Jesse Singal! David Zweig! LIVE in New York!
Come see Jesse Singal and me at my NYC book launch event!
I’m thrilled to announce I’ll be doing an event with journalist, author, and podcast host extraordinaire, Jesse Singal, on Monday, April 28th, at The Village Underground in New York City. We’ll be celebrating the publication of my book An Abundance of Caution, which comes out that week! The event is at 6pm, and you can order tickets HERE. The event is $30, but every ticket holder will receive a copy of the book, which will be waiting for you at the venue. (The book retails for $40, but I’ve worked out a bulk discount.) If you’ve already preordered the book—thank you so much, btw!—please give your free copy to a friend.
We will be making zero dollars off this event. I wanted the cost of the ticket, instead of generating profit, to simply cover the cost of the book. Here’s why: It is important for the truth to come out about the pandemic, and my aim is that this book, which is the result of years of research, will serve as a historical record. The more the book circulates, the better chance it has to serve as a corrective against many false narratives about the pandemic and, more broadly, to reveal how conventional wisdom and the experts can easily lead us astray.
The format for the event is Jesse will lead a conversation with me about the book for around 40 minutes. Then we’ll open it up to a Q&A for 20 minutes. Then I’ll sign books, and people can chat, drink, and mingle. Afterward, whoever wants to do so can join me and others at a nearby bar for more festivities.
It is important to get your tickets NOW. 1) The event might sell out. 2) The free book offer will end very soon because the books need to be ordered in bulk far in advance of the event.
But wait, there’s more! In the next day or two, I will share details for two more book launch events!:
Berkeley, CA, on Saturday, April 26th, and Washington, DC, on Friday, May 2nd.
If you want a live event in your area, and think we can draw a large crowd, reach out to me, and we’ll see if we can make it happen.
See you soon!
Dave
Berkeley, sweet! I’ll be there with the half dozen or so other Bay Areans who thought never ending lockdowns and school closures and masking toddlers was maybe not totally awesome or evidence-based.
In all seriousness, I’m glad you took your time with this book. I look forward to reading it and hope it reaches a broad audience.
The last time I passed out Covid books was Laura Dodsworth’s excellent “A State of Fear”. It was NOT received well by friends or family, who looked like I’d handed them the Taliban Manifesto or something equivalent.
Hopefully your entry point of kids + schools feels safe enough for my good liberal kinsfolk to actually engage with.
Interesting. I like Jesse, but he was pretty... credulous(?) on Covid and public health "policy". Which always struck me as strange, given his criticism of epistemic standards in other scientific areas.
I have already pre-ordered, but this sounds like a great event to get the book out there as well!
