He guided the development of HAART & PrEP which have saved countless lives from death by AIDS. He was principal architect of PEPFAR which by conservative estimate has save over 20,000,000 lives. He oversaw the revamping & streamlining of the approval process for drugs to treat imminently life threatening diseases. He is principal author or coauthor on over 1,300 basic research papers spanning the entire fields of immunology & ID.
